‘Please advise’ is short, to the point, and very straightforward.

Other ways of saying the same thing could be:

    1. ‘Awaiting your advice on the matter, please’
    2. ‘Your guidance is sought here’
    3. ‘The situation warrants your attention and instruction’
    4. ‘May we have your decision on the matter, please’
    5. ‘Awaiting further instructions from you’

    …and so on.

What is the standard practice or the protocol for this situation? How do you recommend that I handle this? How would you like for me to proceed? Please give me your advice on addressing this issue?

I can see that please advise can be a bit too direct for some people’s taste, so you can get more feedback by writing more than please advise.

What free online tool can I use to rephrase my sentences and check my grammar, other than Ginger?

There are many tools that can help you with rephrasing sentences or even complete texts and checking grammar, however, most of them are premium tools and don’t provide the best suggestions with their free plans. Wordtune, on the other hand, gives you the same suggestions it would give you

In the more abbreviated writing one finds in such things as contemporary text messages, one can give examples of various alternatives for addressing an issue and then close with this single word with a question mark: “Thoughts?”

“Please advise” really is the most direct and unambiguous phrase suitable in business writing. Any other alternative just gets a bit on the informal side or uses more words for the same idea.

Please advise if this specification can be approved by Monday.

Please advise us of your requirements.

Please advise if this answer is acceptable.

    Consider the alternatives:

We would wish you to tell us if this… etc. You get the idea.

I agree with the other answers, but it also depends on the sentence and register. How formal do you need to be?

    You could also write:

Please do not hesitate to inform me of/to let us know…

Any recommendation would be very much appreciated.

As Robert below said, why write more than ‘Please advise’ if that does works best?

Please confirm would suggest that you’re looking for an agreement etc.,

Please advise suggests that advice is being sought.

It’s a polite enough way to start a request, however – in isolation on its own as a 2 word sentence seems a little abrupt & condescending.

“Please usually implies a decent characteristics and politeness . The sentence what is initialized with the word please is attract the reader to be sensible and impressive on to the contention. Most of the imperative sentences consist of the word please that refers to be respectful and modest upon something or some issue. In a business writing, politeness and modesty is inevitable along with generous expression ability . In a business letter , a candidate always tries to draw out one’s impression and feedback. Therefore, his great efforts assist him to struck the readers into the following topics.

It has never struck me as obnoxious or passing the buck, but according to Urban Dictionary, it is “An extremely stuffy phrase used by business executives to close emails when they don’t understand how to ask a real question,” and that’s the nicest thing they have to say about it : Please Advise. At best it’s still superfluous, since whatever matter you are seeking to be advised about should already, in question form, have preceded “please advise,” in which case what exactly is the point of the additional request to “please advise”?

EDIT: I am absolutely dumbfounded that this answer is my Most Viewed and that 32,000+ have yielded only 4 upvotes. Are that many people so interested in this question, and apparently so attached to the phrase “Please advise,” that they would then reject this measured response? Please advise.
